I understand what you mean. Here’s my take on it:

There is a difference between being nice and being kind. Being kind means you lead with kindness and show empathy whenever possible. Being nice means being polite for the sake of looking nice even if you’re boiling in anger from inside.

Kindness starts with yourself. If you can’t be kind to yourself, you can’t be kind with people. To get kind with yourself, you express yourself in most sane and manageable way possible according to the situation. So yes, if someone is misuses you, you don’t stay “nice”. You get kind with yourself and find a solution to stop the misuse.

So get out there in the world and roar with kindness. 🦁
